Coastal Bedding & Quilt Covers

Create a relaxed coastal bedroom

Coastal bedding starts with a light palette and layers that feel easy to live with. This edit brings together coastal quilt covers, soft blue and white designs, and sandy neutrals to help you build a bedroom with a calmer outlook. Choose one main design, then repeat a colour from it in the sheets or pillows.

Ellison is a useful starting point for a classic coastal look. Off-white, grey and soft blue keep the pattern gentle, while light quilting and a scalloped edge add detail. A denim-blue check such as Lorne gives the palette a more casual direction. Pair either with plain sheets so the pattern remains the focus.

From modern coastal to Hamptons-inspired layers

For a modern coastal bed, combine white or ivory with sand and one soft blue accent. Keep cushions simple and let the fabric textures do the work. For a Hamptons-inspired bedroom, use a more defined blue-and-white palette with a structured pillow arrangement and classic decorative detail.

Browse blue quilt covers and white quilt covers, then add sheet sets and European pillowcases. For more ideas, read our Hamptons bedroom styling guide. The Summer Edit offers another way to approach seasonal layering.

Coastal bedding questions

What colours work for coastal bedding?

White, off-white, sand and soft blue are reliable starting points. Use two or three tones rather than every coastal colour at once. Natural timber and a plain textured layer can connect the bed to the rest of the room.

Does a coastal bedroom need stripes?

No. Checks, lightly quilted designs, subtle embroidery and plain cotton can all work. Choose a design for its palette and texture, then keep the surrounding layers simple.

Is coastal bedding the same as summer bedding?

Coastal describes a style, while summer bedding describes how you layer for the season. Use your coastal quilt cover year round and select the quilt insert and other layers for your room and comfort preferences. Check each product's fabric, care label, dimensions and pack contents before ordering.
