Measure the bed you have
Record the width, length and full height, including a topper. Compare all three with the selected fitted sheet's dimensions and fit guidance.
Allow enough fabric to reach underneath. A stated wall depth is not a guarantee that every mattress of that height will fit.
Australian mattress sizes and bedding choices
These are approximate mattress measurements, shown as width × length. Mattress makers and finished bedding sizes can vary slightly, so measure your own mattress before ordering.
Single
Mattress: approximately 92 × 188 cm
A Single quilt is a useful starting point. Choose Single fitted sheets with a wall deep enough for your mattress and any topper.
Long Single
Mattress: approximately 92 × 203 cm
Choose Long Single fitted sheets. Our reference Single and Double quilts are both 210 cm long; Double adds width, rather than length. Choose the quilt coverage you prefer and match the cover to the insert.

King Single
Mattress: approximately 107 × 203 cm
King Single is wider than Single. A Double quilt, 180 × 210 cm in our reference chart, is a useful starting point for more side coverage. Select a Double cover to match the insert.

Double
Mattress: approximately 137 × 188 cm
Use Double fitted sheets. Choose a Double quilt for a standard drape, or compare a wider Queen quilt for more side coverage. If you upsize the quilt, upsize its cover too.
Queen
Mattress: approximately 153 × 203 cm
Choose Queen fitted sheets; for a taller mattress, compare Queen Extra Depth options. A Queen quilt is 210 × 210 cm in our reference chart. King adds 35 cm of width for a fuller side drape.

King
Mattress: approximately 183 × 203 cm
Choose King fitted sheets with the required wall depth. King Extra Depth sheets keep the King footprint. For your quilt, compare King with Super King if you prefer more coverage.

Super King mattress
Mattress: approximately 203–204 cm square
A true Super King mattress is wider than King. It needs sheets made for that wider footprint. King Extra Depth sheets are designed for a deeper King mattress and are not a substitute.
Split King
Common arrangement: two Long Single mattresses
Check the width, length and height of each mattress. A Split King set commonly uses two Long Single fitted sheets, but the flat sheet and pillowcase contents vary by range. Check the product listing, especially for adjustable beds.
Quilt and quilt-cover sizes
The following dimensions are our published size reference, shown as width × length. Check the selected insert and cover: some brands use different measurements for the same size name.

Size up the quilt for more drape, not the fitted sheet
Queen to King adds 35 cm of width. King to Super King adds 25 cm of width and 30 cm of length. The actual drape depends on mattress height, quilt loft and how you position it. Always choose a cover that matches your quilt insert.
How to choose fitted and flat sheets
Match the mattress footprint first
Use the mattress width and length to choose the fitted-sheet size. For example, a deeper Queen mattress still needs a Queen footprint. Buying King fitted sheets to gain depth can leave the sheet loose.
Measure the total height
Include the topper or underlay that sits under your fitted sheet. Compare the total height with the stated fitted wall depth and the product's fit guidance. Allow enough fabric to tuck underneath; a wall measurement alone does not guarantee a secure fit on every mattress.
Extra depth is different from a larger mattress size
Queen Extra Depth and King Extra Depth describe a deeper fitted wall for those mattress sizes. Names such as Mega or Super are used differently between ranges. Read the finished width, length and wall measurements rather than relying on the name alone.
Flat-sheet dimensions vary by range
Flat sheets are finished pieces of fabric, so their measurements are different from mattress dimensions. Choose the side coverage and tuck-in allowance you prefer. Check the actual flat-sheet dimensions and set contents on the selected product page.

Pillowcase sizes
Use these as a general reference, then compare the finished pillowcase dimensions with your pillow. Names and measurements can vary between ranges.

Check whether the listing is for one pillowcase or a pair. Decorative European pillowcases and shaped pillowcases are not automatically included in a sheet or quilt-cover set.
