Cooling Bed Sheets

On a sticky Australian night, the first few seconds in bed can make or break your sleep. Warm, rough sheets feel heavy against the skin, while a slick, smooth fabric gives that welcome cool sensation as you settle in. That first touch is what our cooling sheets are all about. They swap the matte feel of everyday cotton for a fluid, glossy satin that glides over the skin and helps the bed feel lighter on warm evenings.

What Makes Cooling Bed Sheets Feel Cool?

Much of how cool a sheet feels comes down to its surface. Smooth, tightly finished fabrics sit lightly against the body and feel cooler to the touch than brushed or fluffy ones such as flannelette. Satin has one of the slickest surfaces of any bedding fabric, which is why it's a popular choice for anyone who sleeps warm or simply loves that cool, silky feel.

Our cooling bed sheets are 100% polyester satin. They won't change the temperature of your room, but the smooth, cool surface makes the bed noticeably more pleasant to climb into on a hot night. Pair them with a light quilt or just the flat sheet on top and the whole bed feels airier.

Gentle on Hair and Skin

Satin has another quiet benefit. Because the surface is so smooth, it creates less friction than many other fabrics as you turn during the night. That means less tugging on your hair and less rubbing against your skin while you sleep.

The two matching pillowcases in each set carry the same satin finish, so your face and hair rest on that smooth surface all night. Many people choose satin pillowcases for exactly this reason, and a full set means the whole bed feels the same from top to bottom.

Queen and King Sizes With a Deep Fit

Shopping for cooling sheets for bed sizes queen or king? Our queen fitted sheet measures 152 x 203 cm and the king 183 x 203 cm, and both have a generous 45 cm wall that reaches comfortably around taller mattresses and toppers. Flat sheets are cut at 240 x 264 cm in queen and 260 x 275 cm in king.

That deeper wall matters with satin. Because the fabric is so slippery, a fitted sheet that's only just big enough can creep off the corners overnight. The extra depth gives the elastic more to grip underneath, so the bed stays smooth from bedtime until morning.

Cooling Sheets Colours and Care

Choose crisp white for a fresh, hotel-style bed, soft grey for a calm and modern look, or navy for something deeper and more dramatic. Queen sets come in white and grey, and king sets come in white, grey and navy. The glossy finish catches the light beautifully, so even a plain colour looks polished.

Caring for satin is simple. Just machine wash the set in warm water on a gentle cycle. Treating it gently helps keep the surface smooth and the colour fresh, so your cooling sheets stay ready for the next heatwave.
